The Cove Lakeside Okanagan Resort Hotel is a full-service luxury hotel situated in the Okanagan Valley.  bedroomHidden in a private cove, this pet friendly hotel has ponds, overlooks Okanagan Lake and has a lovely mountain view.

Amenities include two lakeside pools–one with a waterslide, two hot tubs, a beach, putting green, barbeque area, beach fire pits, tennis court, movie theatre for 16, a teen activity centre, marina with 50 slips, Spa at the Cove, a Bikram Yoga Centre, a gym and gift shop.

For dining there is the Bonfire Restaurant & Bar with a wood stone oven and an open style kitchen.  Inspired by the Southwest and Mexico, this casual yet upscale restaurant’s creative menu is the work of Executive Chef Edan Fay who has a passion for regional foods.

This hotel is situated in what is called Canada’s “Napa North”, just minutes from Westbank and a short drive to Kelowna.  poolsideIt is close to award-winning wineries and championship golf courses.  Other activities are mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and winter skiing.

Guest Rooms:

There are 150 one, two and three bedroom suites, ranging in size from 931 to 2,381 square feet.  The suites have a lovely view of either the swimming pool or the lake with a lush mountain view.  Living room amenities include living and dining areas, a fireplace, 42″ television with a DVD player, wireless internet, floor to ceiling windows, French doors leading to oversize patios or balconies, and complete balcony furniture.  marina and mountain viewThere is also a gourmet kitchen with a wine fridge and stainless steel appliances.  Each bedroom has down pillows, duvets, and a full, private bathroom with deep soaking tubs, Acca Kappa toiletries, and waffle robes.  A suite also has a washer and dryer.

Function Rooms:

Manteo bedroomThe Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel and Villas is most loved for its view, cozy beach, and location by Okanagan Lake.  This 4-1/2 star Canada Select hotel is deemed exceptional in all facilities, service and amenities; and is a Four Keys Green Hotel.

Family facilities include a check-in for kids, kids’ pool, waterslide, spray park, putting greens, and playgrounds.  There is an indoor pool, pool table, fireside library, private theatre, games and a barbeque pit.

The hotel’s award-winning Wild Apple Restaurant & Lounge permits waterfront sunsets, a lounge and outdoor patio.  Its cuisine is by Canada’s best, Chef Bernard Casavant from BC Restaurants Hall of Fame.

The hotel is minutes away from golf courses and award-winning estate wineries; and just one hour from powder skiing at Big White and Silver Star.

Manteo beachOther amenities are saunas and steam rooms, gym, spa services, boat riding, a tennis court, private beach, water sports, guest barbeque facilities, boardwalk barbeque, free parking, bellman, concierge, free Globe and Mail.

Guest Rooms:

Deluxe Guestrooms have either one king bed or two queen beds, a private balcony, a business desk, complimentary wireless internet, and wheelchair accessibility.

Manteo boatsThe one-bedroom suite is also sizeable with a beautiful view, a living room that includes a table and four chairs, CD, DVD player and mp3 capable stereo, and a fully stocked kitchen.

A review of the two-bedroom beachfront villa noted it is “worth the extra cost” for its lakeside patio, spacious living room and kitchen; king room with a deck, and bathroom toiletries.

Function Rooms:

Manteo has waterfront meeting rooms and boardrooms, plus three conference rooms for up to 200. Breakout rooms for smaller sessions have views of Okanagan Lake.  The hotel has a Meeting and Event Specialist to assist in scheduling golf tournaments, wine and meal excursions, boating and outdoor adventures. Dilworth Inn

The Dilworth Inn is a two star budget hotel that offers a homey atmosphere (it is family-owned) with three floors, all with rooms including the ground floor.  There are also large public decks, an indoor pool and hot-tub and sauna on the ground floor. Dilworth lobby There is no elevator so those with mobility issues are advised to request a ground floor room.  Other amenities are an exercise room, free lobby PC and high speed internet, and laundry facilities.

The comfort, cleanliness, service and care are the hotel’s strengths and an independent reviewer noted that “Overall, we were happy with the hotel and enjoyed our stay there.”

For dining, there is free morning coffee and tea, and barbeque is served on the sundeck.  The Dilworth is excellently situated, and White Spot restaurant next door serves tasty breakfasts.  Across the street there is Orchard Park Mall.  If you are interested in exploring the city, this is where to stay.  The Dilworth Inn is just seven minutes by car from the city center, and five kilometers from the waterfront.

All rooms and suites include a full en-suite bathroom, hair dryer, free wireless internet access, free local calls, complimentary tea and coffee, coffeemaker, an in-room fridge and microwave, hair dryer and clock radio.  Standard Rooms have a queen bed and writing desk.

Dilworth room sitting areaThe Deluxe Rooms have all of the above plus a kitchenette and either one queen, or two double beds.  All have a balcony.  Some Deluxe Rooms also have a pull-out couch.  An independent reviewer noted that the rooms were spacious and clean.

The Standard Kitchenette has all of the above with a queen bed and a pull-out couch.

The Deluxe Kitchenette has either a balcony or a full kitchen and one or two beds.

Function Rooms:

There are no facilities here for business conventions or functions.  Overall however, independent reviewers were satisfied with their stay and felt they got good value for money.
